Used Containers—Today’s used containers average 15 years of age when they are typically removed from the shipping fleets. Condition of the unit depends more on their usage than the age and thus we categorize them accordingly. Regardless of whether you buy the cheapest unit we have, all units are watertight.
Discount Units are our lowest grade of used containers. Although many units are still cargoworthy, they have something that makes them a lesser or cheaper container. Common reasons for us putting them in this category may be more than normal dents or even patches in the floors where damaged floor boards are removed and replaced. Functionally, these containers work fine but aren’t always the best looking units. When function and budget are your primary concern, these units may be exactly what you are looking for.
Cargoworthy Units are our regular used container. These units have good doors and floors, they do have normal dings and dents and normal rust. These units are in as-is condition and colors may vary from reddish brown to blue to green with large shipping company logos.
Reconditioned or Refurbished Units are where we take the normal cargoworthy used container and run them through our shop. We strip any exterior rust, weld any necessary repairs, rework the doors for easier operation and lastly paint the exterior to help protect them. Not only do these units look considerably nicer but they will definitely last you longer as we’ve taken care of the rust so you don’t have to too.
One Trip / New
These containers have made a single loaded journey—typically from the factory to their first port of call. That’s it. As a result, they arrive in exceptional condition, with only minimal signs of handling. They’re as close to brand new as you can get in the shipping world. But the benefits of buying new go far beyond appearance.
New containers are engineered with end users in mind. That means more choices: more sizes, more layouts, more ways to work. From wide-opening side doors and open-side access to specialized builds like mini units, tunnel-style double doors, or even climate-controlled reefers, there’s a configuration to fit every purpose. A new container has far more options for customizations when compared to a used container.
